The mission is to encourage and support motivated individuals to get into their upskilling career path to earn a stronger income and better support their families.
PowerUp participants will transition from unemployment and underemployment to full, sustained employment with United Way’s Workforce Navigators acknowledging the need for a range of supportive, wraparound services to keep participants focused. The timeline will be different for each participant.
Participants must be Meriden or Wallingford residents and at least 17 years old.
United Way’s qualified PowerUp Navigators will recruit and guide participants through their journey. Navigators will keep their clients focused while assisting them with the right needed wraparound services and resources to remain on course. Organizations are encouraged to refer Meriden and Wallingford clients to the Navigators. Meriden and Wallingford residents are encouraged to reach out to the United Way office if interested in participating in this program to be connected to one of the best-fitting Navigators:
