Maria joined United Way of Meriden and Wallingford as the Executive Director in 2018. Her first experience in the nonprofit world was as a volunteer, and over a decade later, she enjoys a career that she is very passionate about. She gained extensive experience in all areas of nonprofit management. She particularly loves working on community outreach and creating strong collaborative initiatives.
Maria has been recognized with numerous awards for her commitment to creating opportunities to improve the lives of Latinos in the Greater Wallingford area.
Maria is originally from Bogotá, Colombia. She lives in Wallingford with her husband, John, and their daughter, Fiona.
Diana started working at the United Way of Meriden and Wallingford in 2001 in The Volunteer Center, where she recruited volunteers and coordinated volunteer projects and opportunities. In 2006, she was promoted to Associate Director of campaign and marketing, where she coordinated workplace campaigns and direct mail and special-event fundraising efforts.
Diana is an avid knitter and has a green thumb with houseplants. She resides in Wallingford and has a daughter who lives in Virginia.
Sandra loves working with numbers. She has been a bookkeeper and financial assistant for the United Way of Meriden and Wallingford since 2003 and for several other not-for-profit and for-profit companies most of her adult life. Sandy enjoys fishing, snowmobiling, and spending time with her cherished GSD, Emi. Sandy was born in Meriden, CT and still resides here today.

Julia began working with the United Way of Meriden and Wallingford team as a volunteer intern in January of 2020 and officially joined the team in the Summer of 2020. She creates marketing content for print and digital media along with running the seasonal programs. Julia graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Marketing and has an Associate’s in Graphic Design that comes in handy with the work she does. She is a Wallingford, CT native and has a passion for art and creativity, which has guided her life interests.
