CHANGING LIVES AND BUILDING COMMUNITIES

To mobilize resources to create lasting change.
Is what we do here at United Way of Meriden and Wallingford.
United Way does a lot more than raise money! We fund effective programs, stimulate individual and corporate volunteerism, connect people with resources, work in partnership with others to improve our community.
“Creating this community of caring expands our ability to bring people together to impact lives well beyond what we could do with funding alone.”
We support early childhood learning, homework assistance, after-school enrichment, physical activity, youth leadership and family support programs that provide important life navigation for children, youth and their families, as well as mentoring and tutoring initiatives.

We know stability starts with safe, decent, affordable housing. By connecting our neighbors to housing resources along with job training and employment opportunities, we help create an opportunity for independence and a better quality of life.

By providing children access to behavioral health services, seniors with transportation to medical appointments, and by aligning community-wide goals with expertise from our network of partners, we help individuals achieve optimal health and live independently and productively in our community.

We work with individuals and families through our network of partners to provide temporary shelter, food access and financial assistance, establishing a path to help position them for a brighter tomorrow.
