Week of Action 2020

As food donations have been significantly affected by the Covid-19 pandemic, the need for food continues to increase in our community. United Way of Meriden and Wallingford is launching the “Week of Action” initiative to meet this need; a four week virtual food drive that will benefit local food pantries.

From June 23 through July 21 2020 the Volunteer Center of the United Way of Meriden and Wallingford is encouraging local companies, groups and individuals  to participate during our “Week of Action” initiative. Our focus for this year is once again for local companies to respond to this “call to action” by donating food items to help the families our agencies serve.

Donating goods is easy!  Here is how this virtual food drive works.


1) Pick the food pantry you would like to donate to by clicking on the links below:

Master’s Manna in Wallingford

 New Opportunities of Greater Meriden

The Salvation Army – Meriden


2)Once you are in the YouGiveGoods website on the profile of the food pantry you picked, please follow these simple steps:

-Click on SHOP NOW.

-Choose what items you would like to donate.

-Proceed to check out.

-You will be emailed a tax receipt at the time of purchase.

-All goods ordered online will be shipped directly to the food pantry you picked after the drive ends.
